The 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Machine Learning (CONF-SPML 2026) was a hybrid conference which includes several symposium series (offline and online) around the world.Dr. Guozheng Rao from Tianjin University, Dr. Marwan Omar from Illinois Institute of Technology, have chaired these symposium series on related topics. CONF-SPML 2026 provided the participants with good opportunities to exchange ideas and build networks, and it will lead to further collaborations between both universities and other societies.
Symposium Chair: Dr. Guozheng Rao, Associate Professor in Tianjin University
The symposium on Neural Computation and Applications brought together researchers and practitioners to explore recent advances in neural computation, large language models, knowledge graphs, and data-driven intelligent systems. The symposium provided a vibrant forum for presenting cutting-edge theoretical developments alongside practical applications across multiple domains.
Key discussions focused on continual knowledge graph learning, logic-enhanced large language models, and reliable AI reasoning. Several studies addressed fundamental challenges such as catastrophic forgetting in dynamic knowledge graphs, improving factual verification through multi-agent debate frameworks, and enhancing the interpretability and reliability of AI systems in complex reasoning tasks, including medical decision support. Advances in misinformation and rumor detection were also highlighted, with innovative approaches targeting cross-source, multimodal, and low-resource language scenarios, reflecting the growing need for robust AI solutions in real-world information ecosystems.
In addition to foundational research, the symposium showcased applied studies in intelligent optimization and sustainable systems, including logistics optimization, low-carbon supply chain management, and ESG-oriented resilience assessment. These contributions demonstrated how neural computation and data science methods can effectively support green development and industrial transformation.
Overall, the symposium highlighted the strong integration of methodological innovation and application-driven research, offering valuable insights into emerging trends and future directions in neural computation and machine learning.
